The ZX Range of Corrosion Thickness Gauge are available in four different models dependent upon your requirements & required functions.

Description

Dakota ZX-1 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

The ZX1 is the entry level to the Dakota ZX Series, it features keypad adjustable velocity for measurement & is pre-calibrated to measure steel, allowing the inspector to simply take the gauge out the box and measure. 

ZX1 Measurement range on included transducer: PE: 1.5 - 200mm / (0.059 - 8")

Dakota ZX-3 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

The ZX3 offers adjustable velocity for calibrating to a variety of different materials, an adjustable gain feature for additional versatility to control the overall output of the gauge. (The gain range is 40dB – 52dB in 3dB increments) & a high speed scan mode.

Dakota ZX5-DL Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

The ZX5 & ZX5-DL include all of the features of the ZX3 with the below additional features:

  •   Differential Mode of the ZX5 provides the user with the ability to set a nominal thickness value and measure the +/- difference from the value entered.  This feature is typically used in QA incoming inspections on pipes, plate stock, coils, etc.

  • Alarm mode - The Alarm feature of the ZX5 provides a method of setting tolerances, or limits, for a particular application requirement.  This feature may be used for a variety of applications to verify the material thickness is within the manufacturer specifications/tolerances.  The settings available are:- ON/OFF/BEEP, where beep enables the audible beeper.  Both the on and beep settings will illuminate the led alarm lights above the keys on the keypad.  There are two limit values HI/LO, that can be set according to specified tolerances to alert the user.

ZX5-DL Model includes a Data Logger,  a convenient sequential style data logger that’s intuitive to operate.  By ‘sequential’ meaning a single column of 250 measurements and a total of 40 individual .csv files, for a total storage capacity of 10,000 measurements.  These files can then be transferred to a PC using the USB-C to USB type A cable included in the kit.

Dakota ZX6-DL Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

The ZX6-DL corrosion gauge is the top of the ZX line of thickness gauges.  It combines everything as per the ZX5-DL, with the addition of measuring thru-paint.  A standard pulse-echo flaw detection measurement mode with a multi-echo through paint mode for use on materials with epoxy based coatings, eliminate the error from the coating without having to remove it.

 

Equipped with adjustable gain, as well as automatic Time Dependent Gain in both measurement modes.
